Are your balance boards Australian made?
Yes our boards & wooden rollers are 100% AUS made, Sunshine Coast & are made by the owners of Barefoot & Salty. The cork rollers are imported but that’s only due to us being a small business, & no one in Aus makes them. We are also the original & first brand to design roller balance boards that are safer for young children/beginners.

Can adults use the balance boards?
Absolutely! These aren’t just for the kids haha.
We generally recommend the Wide for adults wanting extra standing room, or the 3-in-1 Pro Trainer if you’d like to switch between different balance setups.
Our recommended rider weight is up to 150kg. We haven’t tested above that weight.
Is there a weight limit?
We have a tested weight limit of 150kg. Anything higher we cannot guarantee the board will maintain it’s integrity.
Is the wood for the balance boards ethically sourced?
We don’t cut corners. Our boards are crafted from the highest-grade FSC-certified premium pine, the gold standard for ethical wood production. Every plank is hand-selected for maximum strength, consistency, and integrity, because we believe quality starts at the source. Unlike many overseas-made boards that use low-grade or uncertified timber, we only use wood that meets the world’s strictest sustainability and ethical standards.
But we don’t stop there. Each board undergoes a custom-developed hardening process designed to dramatically increase strength without adding unnecessary weight, making them incredibly durable yet light and responsive underfoot. This unique balance means better control, smoother movement, and a board that can take a beating and still perform like new.
What sets us apart? We don’t mass produce. Every board is made with care, precision, and that extra bit of love you’d expect from a small Aussie brand that gives a damn. When you choose our board, you’re not just getting a product. You’re getting performance, sustainability, and craftsmanship in every inch designed to be used, loved, and passed down.
What’s the difference between the Original and Wide boards?
The width! Both are approximately 80cm long, but the Original is 23cm wide and the Wide is 28cm wide.
The Wide gives you an extra 5cm of standing room, which is why we generally recommend it for adults
Is the Wide board harder to use?
The roller size makes the biggest difference to difficulty. Choosing a wider board gives you more room for your feet; it doesn’t automatically mean you’re choosing a more advanced setup.
What’s the difference between the 3-in-1 Pro Trainer and your other boards?
Our Original and Wide boards are designed to ride on rollers. The 3-in-1 Pro Trainer lets you switch between a roller, cork dome and cork ball, giving you three different ways to balance!
It has a wooden locator circle underneath to position the dome or ball. Start with the dome flat-side-down on the floor, progress to rollers or try the ball when you’re ready for an epic challenge.
It’s a great option if you want variety or have family members at different skill levels. Being a “Pro Trainer” doesn’t mean it’s only for the pros haha!
What’s the difference between the Longboard Cross Stepper and your other boards?
The Cross Stepper gives you room to move! Our other boards are mainly about balancing with your feet in position, while the longer Cross Stepper lets you practise moving along the board and crossing one foot over the other, like you would on a longboard surfboard.
It balances on three cork domes that you position underneath the board, rather than the roller setup used with our Original and Wide boards.

What would you recommend for a beginner who doesn't surf or skate? Balance is not good at all
Start with a smaller roller and give yourself time to find your feet. Our beginner roller set includes the 5cm and 8cm cork rollers, so you can start small and progress when you’re ready.
For the 3-in-1 Pro Trainer, we recommend beginning with the cork dome flat-side-down on the floor.
What should I buy for my child?
Our Original Surf Balance Board or Retro Balance board with the beginner roller set is our usual recommendation for kids getting started.
Choose the roller to suit their age and ability, follow the supplied instructions and let them progress at their own pace.
Can kids and adults share the same board?
Yep! You can share a board and change the roller to suit whoever’s having a go.
If adults will be using it regularly, the Wide is worth considering for the extra standing room. The 3-in-1 Pro Trainer is another option for families wanting different ways to balance.
Do I need to surf or skate to use one?
Not at all! You can use your board just for the fun of learning to balance. Most people use balance boards for fitness too.
They’re also a great way to practise balance and control between surf or skate sessions.
Can I buy rollers separately?
Yes! Our cork and wooden rollers are available separately, so you can add to your setup without buying another board.

Does my order include one roller or a whole set?
That depends on the option you select. We sell individual rollers as well as sets, so check your selected option and cart before checking out.
A listing showing several roller sizes doesn’t necessarily mean every size is included.
Why can’t I select the 15cm roller in a board combo?
The 15cm roller is large and heavy, so we need to send it separately. The extra postage costs about the same as sending a board, which means we can’t include it in our board combos.
You can still purchase it separately if you’re ready for that challenge.
How does the 3-in-1 Pro Trainer work?
You can use it three ways:
Dome: Start with the flat side on the floor and the board on top. For a harder challenge, fit the flat side into the centre locator underneath the board and balance on the curved side.
Ball: Position the cork ball in the centre locator underneath the board and practise balancing in all directions.
Roller: Use it like a traditional surf balance board, choosing your roller size to suit your ability.
Follow the supplied instructions for each setup. The ball is a serious challenge, even for confident balancers!
What age can children start using a balance board?
We recommend starting from one year with the small roller under strict adult supervision, and from three years with the medium roller.
These are starting recommendations, so always consider the child’s ability and follow the supplied safety instructions.
The 10cm and 15cm rollers are not recommended for children or beginners.
Does my child need supervision?
Children under three must have an adult within arm’s reach.
Always follow the supervision requirements in the safety instructions supplied with your board and choose a setup that suits your child’s age and ability.
Clothing
Where is your size chart?
Under each item we provide to measurements of the item so you can compare to your clothes. We also mention in each description whether its true to size or if you should downsize/up size.
What sizes do you stock?
It depends on the individual garmet so we recommend you shop by size. We range from 0-3 months all the way to a adult 3XL.
Ordering
What size should I buy?
If you’re not quite sure which size is right for you, refer to our size guides. They’re located at the end of the product description for each of our products.
How long does it take to process my order?
We have a 5-7 business day processing time (business days as in week days, Saturday and Sunday at not business days) for clothing & a 7-14 business day for boards, 14-21 business days processing time during October/November/December.
Standard delivery takes 5-21 days for Australian orders and 5-40 days international orders depending on location (click link below for accurate times). We use that time frame to take into consideration any potential delays during transit or from customs, which are unfortunately out of our control. Once we send your order, we have no control over delivery times.
Processing times & shipping times are COMPLETELY two different things. Processing times is the time it takes us to post/make/pack your order, shipping times are how long it takes our shipping courier. Paying for express shipping only makes your shipping faster, it DOES NOT make your order be sent out faster, it does not put you at the front of the cue.
Please also factor that we only get our parcels picked up on a Tuesday and Friday.

Does making time include delivery?
No. Making time is the time we need to create your board before handing it over to the shipping carrier.
Allow for both making time and shipping time, especially if you’re ordering for a birthday or Christmas.
Can I get a board by a particular date?
If you’re ordering for a birthday, trip or special occasion, contact us before ordering with your deadline and delivery postcode.
We can help you work through the making and shipping options available. Please don’t assume a delivery date is guaranteed unless we’ve specifically confirmed it.
Shipping, Returns & Exchanges
We use Australia post for all shipping. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.
What is the shipping policy?
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
For our international orders. If you find our balance board shipping is a little too high head to our Etsy store https://barefootandsalty.etsy.com they tend to give us better discounts on shipping and we pass that on to you. We are currently charging $30 AUD for shipping.
Can I select who you ship my order through?
Yes you absolutely can but bare in mind Auspost gives the most affordable rates. Please contact us if you want to change couriers.
How much is shipping?
Shipping varies from the area code you are in. To get an accurate answer add the items you're going to buy to your cart then enter you shipping address. You will see an accurate shipping quote. If you are buying two or more balance boards and are happy to have them shipping in the same box please contact us as we can help you save money on shipping
Does express shipping mean it will be sent next day?
No paying for express shipping only increases the shipping speed
Why do you recommend signature on delivery for international orders?
Your board has a big journey ahead of it, and we recommend signature on delivery for a safer handover.
Depending on the local delivery service, if you’re not home, your parcel may be taken to a collection point rather than left unattended.
Why is one shipping option marked “not recommended"?
That option doesn’t include signature on delivery.
For international orders, we recommend choosing a service with a signature so your board has a safer handover at the end of its journey.
Are international import fees included?
Any import duties, taxes, tariffs or customs charges are the customer’s responsibility.
These are separate from our product and shipping charges. Check the requirements for your destination before ordering.
Can you change my delivery address after dispatch?
Once your parcel is in transit, address changes generally need to be requested by the receiver through the delivery carrier for security reasons.
Contact us if you need help finding the right carrier details.
My tracking hasn’t moved. What should I do?
Send us your order number and tracking details so we can look into it.
International parcels can spend time in transit or awaiting customs clearance without a new tracking scan. A pause doesn’t always mean your parcel is lost, but we can help investigate.
What if my parcel goes missing?
Please contact us with your order number so we can investigate with the carrier and lodge a claim where needed.
We insure our parcels and will work through the next steps with you.
