At Barefoot & Salty the boards might be the stars of the show but the crew behind them is what makes our little nation so special. We are a small surf obsessed family from the Sunshine Coast who live and breathe what we make. Surfing, skating, barefoot living - it is not just what we sell, it is how we live.

We are not a faceless company that sells items just for profit. We did not just take a design from a small business and cash in because it was trending. We were the business that made it trending. We are the originals.

Every board is designed, made, and packed by us right from our little river shack. Each one is hand sanded, varnished with a water based finish, and tested by our family before it ever reaches you. If it is not good enough for us, it is not good enough for our crew.

The Fam Who Make It Happen

Ben is the maker of every single one of our balance boards. He is fishing mad, naturally good at any kind of board sport, and the guy who makes sure every board is crafted to perfection.

Kiesh is the creative brain, awkward introvert, business mama, skater, surfer, and the heart behind our designs. If you have messaged us on socials, you have spoken to me directly. No robots, no overseas call centres, just me.

Spicey or Turbo Chook is our wild six year old who is the ultimate product tester. If she cannot skate it, surf it, or laugh about it, it does not go into production.

Nugget is our cheeky little mermaid who keeps the chaos alive and the smiles big.

Designed By People Who Actually Use Them

We do not just sell balance boards, we live on them. Barefoot backyard sessions, early morning surf training, and living room balance challenges are all part of our day. Every board we make is inspired by the way we live and tested in the exact way our customers use them.

The Community We Stand With

We source all our materials from other small Australian businesses even if it costs more because supporting local matters to us. We sponsor local events like Chiggys Skateboarding comps where you can see kids using our boards to warm up and practice tricks while they wait to compete. And if you are looking for someone to teach your groms or even yourself Chiggys is the place to go. They even have an indoor skate park.

Why We Do It

Because we know the stoke of nailing your first trick, feeling stronger than you did last month, or watching your kids ditch screens for a balance challenge. We are here for the memories, the laughs, and the community that comes with them.
