Why We Do Not Offer Discounts on Our Balance Board?
This is one of the most common questions we get, so we wanted to take a minute to properly explain it instead of answering it one DM at a time.
We totally get it. Balance boards are an investment piece, and it is natural to ask if there is a discount code, a sale, or a free shipping option. We would probably ask the same thing.
The honest answer is this
We do not offer discounts on our balance boards, and here is exactly why.
Our boards are already priced as fairly as possible
Our balance boards are priced with zero fluff.
We do not inflate the price just so we can slash it later with a fake sale or a flashy discount code. What you see is the real price and the best price all year round. The closest thing to wholesale we can offer directly to our customers.
In simple terms
There is no extra margin sitting there to remove.
If we discounted our boards, we would be selling them at a loss. There just is no room.
Every board is handmade by an actual human
That human is Ben.
One person. Sanding one board at a time.
Ben makes every single balance board by hand. From raw timber to finished board. Cutting, shaping, sanding, sealing, drying, and finishing. There is no factory, no production line, and no shortcuts. He doesn't even use a spray gun because hand sealing/varnishing simply comes up with a much superior finish.
Our costs are not just materials. They are time, labour, skill, tools, electricity, website hosting fees, taxes, wear and tear, and years of experience. Handmade means slow. It means care. It also means we cannot race to the bottom on price even if we wanted to.
Quality materials are non negotiable for us
We will never compromise on materials to make a board cheaper.
All of our boards are made from FSC certified timber. FSC certification is the gold standard of forestry production. It ensures the wood comes from responsibly managed forests, not unknown sources and not destructive forestry practices. Our wood is grown in either Australia or New Zealand.
Our varnish is a well known, trusted brand that prides itself on being safe for use in homes and around families. It is not the cheapest option, but it is durable, reliable, and made to last.
There are brands out there who genuinely have no idea how their boards are made or where their timber comes from. We are not interested in being one of them.
Your purchase supports more than just us
Around 99% of the materials used to make our balance boards are sourced from other local Australian businesses.
That means when you spend money with us, it does not stop here. It flows directly back into our local community. Timber suppliers, finishing suppliers, packaging suppliers, and other small businesses we work with closely.
We also actively support and sponsor local community groups and organisations. Giving back is a huge part of why we do what we do.
Lowering our margins does not just affect us. It limits our ability to support other businesses, local groups, and the community around us. Discounts might seem small, but they have a very real flow on effect.
Shipping is expensive and we already absorb a large portion of it
Shipping a large, heavy item is never free. Someone always pays.
For Australian orders, we cover at least $10 of the shipping cost ourselves.
For international orders, we cover at least 25 percent of the shipping fees. For orders to the USA, we also pay the import fees on top of that.
We choose to absorb these costs rather than quietly inflating the price of the board. Transparency matters to us.
Why discount codes do not apply to boards
Because of everything above, discount codes do not apply to balance boards.
This is a hard no. Not because we want to be difficult, but because there simply is not room.
We would rather be upfront than pretend discounts are possible when they are not.
Our values matter more than chasing sales
We would rather make fewer boards properly than more boards cheaply. Our boards are a lifelong product, something you pass on to, not thrown out with the next trend.
We choose ethical materials. We support responsible forestry. We use safe finishes. We source locally. We support our community. We sponsor local groups. We keep our standards high even when it would be a lot easier not to.
That is our line in the sand.
